Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Pascal Lhant (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Snake Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lhant comes to the cage accompanied by IQ - From the Outside In. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Snake Jackson!
The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Micheangelo Fripello and Ryoma Takatsuka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lhant moves into the clinch successfully.
Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Lhant.
Lhant can't find room to land a body shot as Jackson controls the action.
Lhant lands a right hand.

Lhant lands a right hand that snaps the head of Jackson backwards.
Jackson drops down looking for an ankle pick but Lhant pulls his leg out and moves away.
Lhant is looking to clinch but Jackson is avoiding it.
Lhant misses with a lunging right hand

and Jackson counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Lhant moves into full guard.
Jackson in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Jackson loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Lhant is looking for a triangle but Jackson pushes his legs off easily.

Jackson is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Jackson has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Jackson is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Jackson is looking for a kimura but Lhant is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Jackson to get the leverage.

Jackson is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Lhant has managed to free his arm - good work.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Jackson is pressing down on Lhant's thigh, looking to free his foot. Lhant is holding on for now.

Jackson is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Lhant defends it well.

Jackson is working for a submission of some sort.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Lhant has his hands clasped together around Jackson's back. He's all about the action.
Lhant is looking to improve his position.
Jackson trying to control the action but Lhant is working from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Lhant wants to control but Jackson is keeping busy.
We've been hearing good reports from Lhant's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Jackson slips nicely into half guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Lhant pushes Jackson off looking to stand but Jackson dives back in and keeps control.
Lhant wants to get back to full guard.

Jackson is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Jackson prevents Lhant from improving his position.
Jackson wants to advance to full mount but Lhant doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.
Jackson postures up.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Jackson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lhant swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Lhant looking for a guillotine here but Jackson defends easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Snake Jackson dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Lhant rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Jackson moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Jackson with the counter takedown but Lhant avoids it easily.
No joy there for Lhant, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Jackson takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.


It looks like Snake Jackson has been cut.
Lhant throws a sloppy body shot

and Jackson counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

Jackson is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Lhant is just riding it out for now. Jackson eventually gives up the hold.
Lhant is trying to get back to full guard.
Lhant makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Lhant.
Jackson passes Lhant's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Lhant is looking to improve his position.

Jackson is trying for a kimura here. Lhant looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Jackson wins by kimura!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:20 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Snake Jackson!
Snake Jackson really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Sportsmanship Ltd. logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
The defeated Pascal Lhant had this to say: 'It was my own vanity that bested me! ... Or not. Guessing my graduation from white belt to blue belt 5 minutes ago didn't matter as much as I'd hoped!'.
