Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Alexandre Santos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kyle Keys (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Alexandre Santos!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Kyle Keys!
The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Daniel Franklin and Santiago Holmes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Santos avoids a punch combination nicely.
Keys shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Santos but Santos pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Keys lands a jab-cross combination.
Santos throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Keys's waist but Keys gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Santos off to one side.
Keys throws a push kick but Santos slaps the foot to one side.
Santos tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Keys manages to circle out of the way.
Santos tries to close the distance and clinch but Keys swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
As Santos backs off Keys throws a huge counter combo but Santos manages to avoid it all.
Keys misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Keys looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Keys tries for a takedown but Santos circles away easily
and Santos counters with a stiff right hand.
Alexandre Santos has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kyle Keys.
Keys pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Keys tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Santos tries to clinch but Keys moves out of range.
Santos lands a head kick. Keys smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

Keys drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Keys working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Santos is looking for a triangle but Keys pushes his legs off easily.
Keys won't allow Santos to get back to his feet.

Keys gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Santos moves out of range of the leg kick from Keys.

Keys shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Santos manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Keys postures up.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Santos being controlled here, momentarily.
Keys won't allow Santos to sweep him here.
Keys sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Santos's guard.
Keys seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Keys is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Keys sitting and controlling from the half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Santos looks like he's trying to stand up.
Keys tries to pass the half guard into mount. Santos knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Santos is trying to control but can't.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Keys gets a double leg takedown into Santos's guard.

Keys decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Santos is looking to clinch but Keys is avoiding it.

Keys shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Keys showed some decent athleticism there.
Keys with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Keys prevents Santos from improving his position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

No luck with that takedown attempt from Keys.

and Keys counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Keys slows the pace down in half guard.
Santos wants to get back to his feet.
Keys takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Keys has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Keys is continuing to stall.

Santos wants to improve his position but Keys is controlling well.
Santos is trying to maintain the position but Keys is very close to passing his half guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Keys decides to stand up.
Keys fails with the takedown.
Keys just manages to avoid a counter high kick fromSantos.
Santos shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Keys sprawls well. Keys wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Santos gets slowly back to his feet.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Keys closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Santos is trying to break the clinch but Keys has him pressed against the cage.

Keys manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Keys pulls Santos in close to prevent any damage.
Keys working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Santos.
Santos stopping the sweep attempt from Keys.

Keys wants to stand up but Santos is controlling him.
Santos is looking to stand up but Keys won't let him.
Santos looking to sit in guard and control but Keys gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Keys stands and throws Santos's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Keys tries to move to mount but Santos blocks the move with his legs.
Santos parries the strikes from Keys easily there. Keys is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Santos to escape.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Santos taking punishment in the form of punches.
Keys creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Santos prevents Keys from moving into mount.

Keys is trying to get an arm triangle but Santos is defending well.
Santos is looking for a sweep.
You can see the frustration on Santos's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Keys content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kyle Keys showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!



Keys looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Santos!

Keys stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Keys tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Santos defends well and Keys ends up having to push Santos into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Santos feinted with a counter takedown.

Keys takes the fight into the clinch.
Keys jumps guard but Santos turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Keys just leaning against Santos, taking a breather.
Keys working hard to break the clinch.
Keys keeps control of Santos as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Santos has a couple of punches blocked by Keys.
Santos is looking to take this one to the mat.

Keys turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Santos wants to get back to his feet but Keys drags him back down.

Santos tries to improve position but can't.
Keys really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Santos. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
You can see the frustration on Santos's face as Keys controls the position.
Keys's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Keys tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Keys trying to control the action but Santos is working from the bottom.

Kyle Keys has got the better of the ground game so far.

Keys stands up and beckons Santos to his feet.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Alexandre Santos. That's going to take a lot out of him.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Keys changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Santos looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Santos is pushing Keys's head away, looking to escape. Keys manages to hold on to the position though.
Santos is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
Keys lands a nice forearm strike.
Keys in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
Keys controlling the position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Kyle Keys comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Keys has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
