Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Raymond Stokes! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Bradley Work! The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Felipe Paraventi and Emerson Jorge.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight. Work avoids the head kick by Stokes.
Work is looking for the big counter here. Work looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Work looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Stokes misses with a head kick.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Work circles away from the clinch attempt.
Work unleashes a big counter combination but Stokes bobs and weaves and avoids any damage. Work displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Stokes. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Nice sprawl there from Work as Stokes shoots in.
That's one minute gone in the round. Stokes misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Work throws a counter combo. Stokes tries a head kick but it misses.
Stokes shoots in looking for a takedown. Work tries to sprawl out of it but Stokes keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Work manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Work lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Raymond Stokes. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Stokes misses with a double jab.
Work is looking for the big counter here. Stokes tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Work swivels and escapes. Stokes shoots in for a takedown but Work shows good takedown defense. Work displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Stokes throws out the jab.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Stokes lands with a good body shot. Stokes misses with a takedown attempt - Work sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Work tries to counter by closing the distance. Stokes scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Stokes decides to stand and escape the position. Stokes fails to land with a series of punches.
Stokes throws a head kick that misses. Work is looking for the big counter here. Stokes could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Stokes tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Work defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Stokes. Stokes closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Work quickly recovers to half guard. Work tries to roll over but Stokes keeps him under control. Stokes is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Work is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
