Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Willian Johns (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David McKeehan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). David McKeehan has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Willian Johns!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, David McKeehan!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Alan Glass and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McKeehan keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
McKeehan unleashes a big counter combination but Johns bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Johns walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
McKeehan misses with a wild combination.

McKeehan drives through and clinches with Johns against the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Johns jumps guard but McKeehan turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Johns tries for a takedown but McKeehan manages to get underhooks.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Willian Johns. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Johns is trying to work for a single leg takedown but McKeehan pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Johns throws a strike but McKeehan rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Johns trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
Johns throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Johns doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

McKeehan stands up from guard. Let's bang!

McKeehan takes the fight into the clinch.

Johns successfully pulls guard.
McKeehan is pushing down on Johns's leg trying to pass to half guard. Johns is fighting to maintain full guard but McKeehan has managed to sneak the leg through.

Johns looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
McKeehan moves nicely into side control.

McKeehan stands up and beckons Johns to his feet.

McKeehan closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Johns to the mat! Johns manages to get full guard.

Johns looking for subs off his back but McKeehan has passed one foot through into half guard.

McKeehan postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Johns to stand up.
Johns takes a shot to the body in his stride.

Johns gets tackled into the cage by McKeehan. McKeehan maintains the clinch.

Johns has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by McKeehan after a bit of a struggle.
McKeehan is trying to break the clinch but Johns has him pressed against the cage.
McKeehan tries to break the clinch but Johns is controlling the position.
Johns tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. McKeehan just stands there and leans against the cage.
Johns jumps guard but McKeehan stands there with Johns around his waist. Johns gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Johns is breathing heavily.
Johns tries to pull guard but McKeehan won't allow it.

McKeehan has picked Johns up - he's going for a ride! McKeehan dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.

McKeehan decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

McKeehan moves into the clinch successfully.

McKeehan gets control of Johns's arms and successfully pulls guard. McKeehan will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

David McKeehan dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Oh Johns is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

McKeehan uses his free foot to push down on Johns's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Johns.

McKeehan is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Johns knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Johns for a finish.
Johns seems to have got his legs back now.
David McKeehan has got the better of the ground game so far.
Johns just trying to survive but McKeehan is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.

McKeehan misses with a punch to the head.
Johns tries to break free.
McKeehan trying to secure his dominant position for a moment - making sure Johns doesn't escape.
McKeehan is not going to allow Johns to sit and survive in this position.
Johns wants to get back to his feet.
Will McKeehan go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Johns trying to control but not successfully.
Johns can't escape the position.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Johns finds himself mounted whilst avoiding strikes.

McKeehan looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Johns tries to reverse the position but McKeehan maintains control.

McKeehan moves into the clinch successfully.

McKeehan has picked Johns up - he's going for a ride! McKeehan dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.

Johns regains full guard. Nicely done.
Johns wants to stand up but McKeehan is controlling him.
McKeehan wants to control from the top but Johns keeps moving.
Johns is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

McKeehan gets to his feet. Johns looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

David McKeehan showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

McKeehan takes advantage of some sloppy striking from Johns to pass into mount.
McKeehan looking to control and managing it successfully.
McKeehan blocks Johns's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom.
McKeehan throws some wild stikes that Johns manages to avoid easily.

McKeehan is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Johns can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

McKeehan unloads with some shots from mount but Johns bucks and avoids them well.
McKeehan takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Johns is flailing around like a fish out of water, trying to land strikes.
McKeehan controlling from the full mount.
Johns tries to lock up and control but McKeehan gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
McKeehan has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

McKeehan prevents Johns from getting the reversal.
McKeehan is trying to control here but Johns has managed to regain half guard.
Johns really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
McKeehan is trying to control the action in half guard but Johns is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

McKeehan is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Johns defends it well.

Johns doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Well McKeehan has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
