Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bob Slaughter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bob Blunt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Bob Slaughter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Bob Blunt!
The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Paulo Santos and Luis Engracia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Blunt shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Slaughter but Slaughter pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Blunt tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Slaughter paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Blunt throws a head kick that misses.

Slaughter looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Blunt wants to control but Slaughter is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Blunt wants to improve his position but Slaughter is controlling well.
Blunt is trying to stand back up but Slaughter is controlling him
Blunt is looking to improve his position.

Slaughter gets to his feet - back to striking we go!
Blunt is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Blunt moves into range and clinches up with Slaughter.
Blunt has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Slaughter avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Blunt tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Slaughter smiles and moves away.
Bob Slaughter has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bob Blunt.

Slaughter gets a takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Blunt is looking to control Slaughter's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Blunt avoid being mounted?

Slaughter wants to control but Blunt is keeping him busy.
Slaughter missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Slaughter is thwarting Blunt's attempts to control the position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

and Slaughter counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Slaughter steps into range and cracks Blunt with a monster punch that buckles his knees! Blunt flops backwards and Slaughter dives into his guard looking to finish!

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Slaughter trying to control but Blunt is working from the bottom.
Blunt wants to control the position but Slaughter says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.

Blunt wants to control but Slaughter is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Slaughter throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Blunt is looking to improve his position.
Blunt wants to control the action here but instead Slaughter manages to pass to full mount!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Slaughter lands a nice shot to the head.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Blunt is trying desperately to improve position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bob Slaughter dominated that round.

Slaughter tries to close the distance and clinch up but Blunt swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Blunt needs to keep his hands up - Slaughter had a free shot at his head there.
Blunt swats away the attempt to clinch by Slaughter.
Blunt shoots in but Slaughter avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Slaughter throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Slaughter scores with the left hand. Blunt knows he should have avoided that one.
Bob Slaughter seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Slaughter fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.

Slaughter throws a jab but it's blocked by Blunt.

Slaughter tries to break the clinch but Blunt is controlling the position.

Slaughter with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Blunt has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Slaughter avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Bob Slaughter has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bob Blunt.
Slaughter has had enough of the clinch but Blunt keeps him there for the moment.

Slaughter breaks from the clinch.
Slaughter misses with a body shot.
Blunt throws a shot from downtown. Slaughter moves away and avoids it.
Slaughter looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Blunt tries for a takedown but Slaughter circles away easily

Slaughter pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Slaughter ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Blunt moves away.
Slaughter throws an overhand right that lands on Blunt's shoulder, as Blunt tries to avoid the shot.
Slaughter misses with a two punch combination.
Bob Slaughter is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Blunt moves into the clinch successfully.

Blunt breaks the clinch.
Slaughter smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.

Blunt changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Slaughter tries to avoid it but Blunt manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Slaughter to the ground. Slaughter escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Slaughter fails to land with a series of punches.
Slaughter stuffs the takedown.
Slaughter stuffs the takedown attempt from Blunt. Blunt gets slowly back to his feet.
Slaughter clinches but Blunt breaks the clinch
and Blunt counters with a three punch combo that has Slaughter backing up. Slaughter nods at Blunt to acknowledge the strikes.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Slaughter lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Blunt has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Blunt and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Blunt shoots in looking for a takedown. Slaughter tries to sprawl out of it but Blunt keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Slaughter manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Blunt fails with the takedown
and Slaughter counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Blunt misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Slaughter is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.

Blunt controlling the position easily from mount.

Slaughter tries to lock up and control but Blunt gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Slaughter defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Blunt.
Blunt trying to control but he's not successful this time.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
You get the feeling that Slaughter really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Slaughter trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Blunt controlling the position easily from mount.
Blunt scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Slaughter?
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bob Slaughter dominated that second round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


Blunt gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Slaughter counters with a left to the body.
Slaughter misses with a body shot.
Bob Slaughter is winning the standup battle so far.
Blunt missing with a left hand there. Slaughter was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Blunt fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Slaughter looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Slaughter breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Blunt closes the distance and clinches up with Slaughter, looking for a takedown. Blunt pushes Slaughter against the cage but Slaughter circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Slaughter throws a combination that misses

and Blunt counters by clinching up.
Blunt is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Bob Slaughter has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bob Blunt.
Blunt is trying to stall.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Slaughter breaks the clinch.
Blunt takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

Blunt darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Blunt is trying to keep Slaughter in close.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Slaughter is looking to take a break and control but Blunt is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Blunt gets full guard.
Blunt looking for a sweep. Not yet Blunt, not yet.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Blunt bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Slaughter's guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Bob Blunt.
Well Slaughter has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
