PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Eoin Greene (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gamma Jack (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Eoin Greene!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Gamma Jack!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Darius Henderson and Topper Green.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jack stuffs the takedown.

Jack gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Jack misses with a hook from the clinch.
Greene looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Greene has had enough of the clinch but Jack keeps him there for the moment.
Jack throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Greene blocks it with crossed arms.
Greene has Jack pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Jack manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Jack escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Greene shoots in for a double leg but Jack sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Eoin Greene. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Jack throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Greene's head.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Greene shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Jack pinned against the cage. Jack gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Greene is trying to break the clinch but Jack has him pressed against the cage.

Jack wants to stand up but Greene has a hold of him and won't allow it.
Jack is looking to take a break and control but Greene is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Jack seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Jack tries to pass to full mount but Greene defends it.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Greene shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Jack as he avoids it easily.
Good leg kick by Jack there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Greene pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Greene shoots in and drives through. Jack sprawls well.
Jack wants to counter the offense by Greene and move into the clinch position.

Greene moves away from the strike by Jack.
Greene throws a head kick that misses.
Jack has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Jack wants to sweep here but Greene controlling him for the moment.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Jack is on top in guard.

A close second round but Gamma Jack will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


Jack will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Jack is looking for a kimura but Greene is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Jack to get the leverage.
Greene has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Jack is working away from the top position though.

Jack is just content to waste time from the top position. Greene takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Jack thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Jack thows a huge punch but Greene dodges it nicely.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Greene throws a body shot but no joy.
Greene tries to close the distance and clinch but Jack swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Jack gets a double leg takedown into Greene's guard.
Jack wants to get up but he can't break Greene's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Jack postures up in Greene's guard and throws a big left but Greene blocks it.
Jack tries to free his leg and advance position but Greene is retaining full guard.
Jack would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Jack wants to control from the top but Greene keeps moving.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Jack stands and steps away. Greene gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Eoin Greene has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Gamma Jack is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Jack rushes Greene and presses him up against the cage.

Gamma Jack comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Jack has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
