Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Gioros Malaks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Juan Carlos Reyes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Gioros Malaks!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Juan Carlos Reyes!
The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Peter Branson and Sandra Marshall.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Malaks moves into the clinch.

Reyes is trying to trip Malaks. He has hold of a leg but Malaks is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Reyes persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Reyes tries to free his leg and advance position but Malaks is retaining full guard.
Reyes lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Reyes sitting in guard, not really doing much.

Malaks working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Reyes doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Reyes manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Reyes shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Malaks is trying to defend but Reyes finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Reyes working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Reyes has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Malaks is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Reyes is keeping busy.

Malaks is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Malaks forces Reyes back against the cage and clinches.

Reyes has picked Malaks up - he's going for a ride! Reyes dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Reyes perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Let's hope that Reyes has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Reyes takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Reyes has Malaks up against the cage in a clinch.
Malaks is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
Malaks wants to stall.

Reyes pulls guard successfully.
Reyes bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Malaks's guard.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Juan Carlos Reyes showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!



Reyes moves into the clinch successfully.
Reyes has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Malaks avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Reyes is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Malaks pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Malaks is trying to maintain a safe position but Reyes gets an underhook and turns Malaks into the cage.

Reyes wants the takedown. Malaks is fighting it off but Reyes persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Malaks's guard against the cage.
Malaks looking for a sweep. Not yet Malaks, not yet.
Malaks can't keep his opponent in guard - Reyes advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

We've been informed that Reyes has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

Malaks takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Malaks tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

Reyes cracks Malaks with a nice body shot.

Reyes lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.

Reyes is working for a submission of some sort.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Reyes in particular looking to stall.

Reyes is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Malaks doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Reyes.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Gioros Malaks is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Reyes scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

Malaks clinches up with Reyes and pushes him back against the cage.

Reyes has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Malaks is trying to keep an underhook but Reyes manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Reyes seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

We're seeing a lot of stalling here from Reyes.

Juan Carlos Reyes is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Well Reyes has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
