PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Danny Lynch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ham Sammich (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Danny Lynch!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ham Sammich!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Nard Betker and Aafke Stam.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lynch misses with a body shot.
Sammich stuffs the takedown attempt from Lynch. Lynch gets slowly back to his feet.

Sammich shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Lynch manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Sammich stands and throws Lynch's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Lynch is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
Lynch is looking for a sweep.
Lynch is trying to buck Sammich off.
Sammich throws a strike aimed at the side of Lynch's head but Lynch avoids it well.

Lynch might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Sammich closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Lynch's guard.

Sammich looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Sammich is trying to control the action in half guard but Lynch is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sammich wants to lay and pray for a moment but Lynch keeps working.
Sammich thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

Lynch knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Sammich on the ground.

Sammich lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Sammich cracks Lynch with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Sammich has hold of Lynch's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Lynch manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Ham Sammich will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


Lynch shoots in looking for a takedown but Sammich manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Lynch's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Lynch drives through with a takedown into Sammich's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
