Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Chance Storm (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stan Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Stan Smith!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Damien Edna and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Smith scores a takedown into full mount!

Smith is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!
Smith tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Smith throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Storm.
Storm fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Smith looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Smith slips a jab and a cross from Storm.
Smith shoots for a double leg takedown but Storm sprawls well. He's pushed Smith's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Storm connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Smith is looking to score with low kicks.

Smith fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Storm sprawls well initially but Smith persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Storm looking for submissions off his back.
Storm is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Storm looking to force a kimura from the bottom here. He's concentrating on that move too much though and Smith pushes past his half guard into mount!

Smith jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Storm manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Smith looks gassed!
Smith trying to control the action but Storm is working from the bottom.
Storm tries to improve position but can't.
Storm is working hard here to advance position.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Smith wants to take a breather but Storm manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Smith.

Storm escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Smith gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Storm looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Smith passes into half guard.

Storm has guillotine here! It looks pretty tight! Could this be all over! No, Smith escapes and passes into side control at the same time. Nice work there by Smith!

Smith throwing strikes but missing, from side control.
Storm regains half guard.

Storm looking for submissions from an awkward position here.

Storm looking for submissions off his back.

Smith is looking for a kimura but Storm is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Smith to get the leverage.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Smith seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Storm does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Storm tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Storm is trying to stand.
Smith content to control rather than advance.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Storm fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Smith looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Stan Smith will probably get the nod.
That's time! Back to the action!


Storm throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Storm misses with a few strikes there.
Smith looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Storm throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Smith stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Storm throws a combination. Smith tries to block but a couple of punches get through.


It looks like Stan Smith has been cut.
Storm throws a one two combo.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Storm scores with the left hand. Smith knows he should have avoided that one.
Smith drops his hands momentarily and Storm takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Storm lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Smith backs up against the cage.
Storm throws a right and a left that Smith avoids nicely.
Storm lands a jab-cross combination.


That has opened up Stan Smith's cut even more.
Smith is breathing heavily.
Storm darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Storm throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Smith on the side of the head.
A right-left combo lands from Storm.


Smith is rocked!
Storm lands with a right that hurts Smith. Smith looks to clinch but Storm throws a short knee that drops Smith. This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:02 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punch and Knee). Chance Storm!
