Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Hit Run (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Connor Jeffrey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Hit Run!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Connor Jeffrey!
The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Bart Greer and Michael Johnstone.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jeffrey forces Run back against the cage and clinches.

Run lands a takedown into guard.
Run trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Run might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Jeffrey is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Run is controlling him.
Run tries to free his leg and advance position but Jeffrey is retaining full guard.
Jeffrey keeping moving, preventing Run from controlling successfully.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Run is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Jeffrey is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Jeffrey has escaped and now he's on top!

Run wants to sweep but no luck.

Run controlling the position.
Run wants to hit a switch here but Jeffrey passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Run there!
Run is looking to get to half guard.
Run tries to hold on but Jeffrey pushes him away.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Run keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Run is working hard here to advance position.
Jeffrey wants to get back to his feet but Run is holding on tight.
Run tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Run tries to hold on but Jeffrey pushes him away.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Run is in all sorts of trouble here.
Run could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Jeffrey avoids the attempt from Run to control.
Run can't escape the position.

Jeffrey stands up from mount. Strange move.
Run avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Jeffrey leaves Run with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Run is breathing heavily.
Jeffrey tries to clinch

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
and Run counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Run is working for a kimura from half guard. He's really concentrating on the hold and it's allowed Jeffrey to slip a leg under and get back to full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Jeffrey wants to get back to his feet but Run is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Run trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Run looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Hit Run will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Jeffrey tries to clinch but Run moves out of range.

Jeffrey darts in and clinches Run up against the cage.
Run tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Run is trying to pull guard but Jeffrey has him pressed against the cage.
Run tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Jeffrey smiles and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hit Run. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Jeffrey looks to clinch

and Run counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Jeffrey!
Run advances to full mount.
Jeffrey really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Run. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Run goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Jeffrey is on top in guard.

Run has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Jeffrey is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Run.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Run tries to improve position but can't.

Jeffrey stands up.

Jeffrey has closed the distance and engaged Run in a clinch.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Jeffrey.
Run fails to pull guard.
Run is trying to pull guard but Jeffrey turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Jeffrey misses with a short punch on the inside.

Run successfully pulls guard.
Run wants to sweep here but Jeffrey controlling him for the moment.
Hit Run overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Run has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Jeffrey is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Run.

Jeffrey wants to stand but Run has his arm trapped.
Run is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Jeffrey has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Run thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Jeffrey stops Run from passing to mount.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Jeffrey is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Run is controlling him well.

Hit Run dominated that second round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Run is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Jeffrey pulls his head out easily.

Jeffrey tries to stand but Run controls the position and pulls Jeffrey into his guard.

Run trying to control the position.
Run is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.


Run is working for a submission of some sort.
Hit Run is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Run tries to pass the half guard into mount. Jeffrey knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Jeffrey is looking to escape.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Jeffrey is looking to clinch.

and Run counters with a shoot takedown. Jeffrey fights it but they end up in guard.
Jeffrey keeping moving, preventing Run from controlling successfully.
Connor Jeffrey has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Run is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Jeffrey can do to turn this around?

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Run, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
