Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jim Halpert (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tommy Sander (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jim Halpert!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Tommy Sander!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Damien Edna and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Halpert tries to close the distance and clinch but Sander swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Halpert throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Sander's waist but Sander gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Halpert off to one side.
Nice takedown defense from Sander. No joy for Halpert on that attempt.
Halpert misses with a takedown attempt - Sander sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jim Halpert. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Halpert fails with the takedown.
Halpert tries to close the distance and clinch but Sander swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Halpert looks for a takedown but Sander sprawls well.
Halpert changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Sander tries to avoid it but Halpert manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Sander to the ground. Sander escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Halpert changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Sander tries to avoid it but Halpert manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Sander to the ground. Sander escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Sander throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Halpert tries for a takedown but Sander sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Halpert is breathing heavily.

Halpert wants to clinch.
Sander lands a nice looking body shot.
Sander lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.


It looks like Jim Halpert has been cut.
Halpert fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Sander fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Halpert. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.

Halpert is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Nice uppercut lands for Sander. That snapped Halpert's head back.

Sander really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Halpert. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Despite being in the dominant position, Tommy Sander just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that's the end of the fight!
Tommy Sander comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Sander has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
