Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Doppo Orochi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Montgomery Nagendra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nagendra comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Mozart - Lacrimosa kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 25 - 15 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Doppo Orochi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 26 - 0, fighting out of London, Montgomery Nagendra!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Alan Glass and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Orochi scores with a nice strike.


It looks like Montgomery Nagendra has been cut.
Orochi looks to clinch

and Nagendra counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Nagendra is trying to work for a kimura but Orochi is defending well.
Orochi has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Nagendra is working away from the top position though.
Orochi blocking the ground and pound attempt from Nagendra.

Nagendra is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Orochi sees it coming and defends easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Nagendra seems to be looking for submissions.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Orochi wants to control but Nagendra is keeping busy.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Nagendra loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Nagendra goes for a double leg but Orochi avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Orochi continues to drive forward.
Orochi attempts a counter takedown but Nagendra avoids it well and moves away.

Orochi rushes Nagendra and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Orochi connects with a knee to the head.
Orochi is defending well against a takedown attempt.
A right handed body shot lands from Orochi.
Nagendra is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Orochi to keep the fight standing.
Doppo Orochi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Montgomery Nagendra.
Nagendra tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Orochi just stands there and leans against the cage.
Orochi stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.

Nagendra jumps guard but Orochi stands there with Nagendra around his waist. Nagendra gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Orochi throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Nagendra stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Orochi misses with a jab, cross combination.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Nagendra.
Nagendra avoids the body shot from Orochi.
Orochi tries to close the distance and clinch but Nagendra swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Orochi misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Orochi definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Doppo Orochi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Nagendra closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Orochi quickly recovers to half guard.

Nagendra is working for a submission of some sort.

Nagendra is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Nagendra is thwarting Orochi's attempts to control the position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Doppo Orochi will probably get the nod.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Orochi gets back to full guard.
Nagendra is looking to work some ground and pound but Orochi has wrist control.

Nagendra swings around for an armbar but Orochi sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Nagendra's guard.

Orochi decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Nagendra, up you get!

Orochi moves into the clinch successfully.

Nagendra has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Orochi is trying to keep an underhook but Nagendra manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Orochi moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Nagendra postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

That was a close second round but I would say that Doppo Orochi will probably get the nod.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Nagendra fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Orochi avoids it really well and circles away.

Nagendra shoots in looking for a takedown. Orochi tries to sprawl out of it but Nagendra keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Orochi manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
A looping hook to the body misses from Orochi. Nagendra does a little dance to reset his feet.
Orochi lands a high kick!


That has opened up Montgomery Nagendra's cut even more.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Nagendra throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Orochi's waist but Orochi gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Nagendra off to one side.
Orochi goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Nagendra gets cracked there but stands up to it.

Nice uppercut lands for Orochi. That snapped Nagendra's head back.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Orochi, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Doppo Orochi decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
