The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Otche looks to land a combination but Wayne avoids it well.
Wayne with the counter takedown but Otche avoids it easily.
Otche misses with a two punch combination.
Sven Otche seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Wayne counters with a head kick.
Otche jabs Wayne to the body, keeping him at a distance.

and Wayne holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Wayne tries a body shot but Otche blocks it.
Otche is looking to take this one to the mat.
Otche doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Wayne has Otche pressed against the cage, preventing Otche from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Wayne jumps guard and drags Otche to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Otche looking to sit in guard and control but Wayne gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Otche lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Sven Otche is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Wayne misses with a wild body shot.
Wayne throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Otche's waist but Otche gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Wayne off to one side.
Otche swats away the attempt to clinch by Wayne.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Wayne ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Wayne needs to keep his hands up - Otche had a free shot at his head there.
The fight stays on the outside here - Wayne looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
We've been informed that Wayne has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Otche throws a combination that misses

and Wayne counters with a shoot takedown. Otche fights it but they end up in guard.
Otche looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Wayne puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.

Wayne is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Wayne decides to return to a standing position.

Otche circles away from the clinch attempt.
Otche lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Some wild striking there from Otche.
Otche misses with a lunging right hand
and Wayne counters with a stiff right hand.
Wayne tries to close the distance and clinch up but Otche swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Wayne shoots in for a takedown but Otche shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Otche throws a nice looking combination but Wayne bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
And Wayne tries to counter it with a takedown but Otche pushes his down on his head and steps out.

Wayne tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Wayne lands a damaging elbow.

It looks like Sven Otche has been cut.
Wayne is trying to drag Otche to the mat but Otche just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Sven Otche has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Solomon Wayne.

Wayne gets control of Otche's arms and successfully pulls guard. Wayne will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Wayne clinches up with Otche and pushes him back against the cage.

Wayne working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Otche doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Otche manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Otche would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Wayne has Otche pulled in close to control his posture.
Wayne has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Wayne tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Wayne has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Otche knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Wayne on the ground.
Otche is looking for a sweep.

Wayne wants to control the pace but Otche is squirming around nicely.
