The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alvarez wants to clinch.
Alvarez tries to clinch but Strong is having none of it.

We've been hearing reports that Alvarez has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Strong lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Strong creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Strong tries to throw a body punch but Alvarez avoids it by throwing Strong back against the cage.

Strong bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Alvarez's head backwards.
Strong dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

Strong cracks Alvarez with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Strong has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Alvarez to stand back up!
