Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Noel Cooley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Bergen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). James Bergen has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Noel Cooley!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, James Bergen!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, David Schapiro and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cooley misses with a wild combination.
Cooley goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Cooley takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Cooley swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Bergen is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bergen pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Cooley throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Bergen's waist but Bergen gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Cooley off to one side.

Cooley gets caught napping as Bergen dives in and scores a takedown. Cooley manages to retain guard.
Cooley is looking to stand up but Bergen isn't so interested in that idea.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Cooley is trying to keep Bergen in close.
Cooley is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Bergen trying to control the position from guard on top but Cooley is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Cooley looking for a guillotine here but Bergen defends easily.
Bergen stays in close to Cooley's body and controls the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Cooley looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Bergen wants to stand but Cooley is controlling his posture from full guard.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Bergen changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Cooley looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Bergen tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Bergen has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Bergen trying to control the action but Cooley is working from the bottom.
Cooley gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Cooley is refusing to be controlled, as Bergen sits in half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The fighters are battling for position here. Cooley manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Cooley keeping full guard, as Bergen tries to pass.
Bergen's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Bergen throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Cooley works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Cooley pulls Bergen in to control the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Bergen trying to control but Cooley is working from the bottom.
Bergen should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Cooley wants to sweep but no luck.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Bergen gets the takedown into side control.
Cooley is pushing Bergen's head away, looking to escape. Bergen manages to hold on to the position though.
Bergen tries to move into full mount but can't pass Cooley's legs.
Cooley tries to escape but Bergen is in control.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
A control attempt from Cooley but he's now mounted!
Bergen trying to control but Cooley is having none of it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

James Bergen dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Bergen closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Cooley quickly recovers to half guard.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Bergen has eaten all the pies!
Cooley looks like he's trying to stand up.
Bergen has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Bergen is just content to waste time from the top position. Cooley takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

Bergen content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Cooley has locked up a guillotine! Cooley's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Bergen is holding on here and Cooley must be using up a lot of energy. Bergen has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Cooley gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Noel Cooley!
