The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Luis Engracia and Edson Gomes.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A big left from Gabel misses.
Silva throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Gabel's waist but Gabel gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Silva off to one side.
Silva tries to clinch there but Gabel circles away.

Gabel sets himself and throws a head kick that knocks Silva to the ground! Gabel dives into full mount looking to finish!

Silva is rocked!

It looks like Hernanes Silva has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Gabel really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Silva. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Silva postures up in Gabel's guard and throws a big left but Gabel blocks it.
Gabel is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

Gabel's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Silva wants to pass the guard but Gabel is keeping the position.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Gabel holds on and takes a little breather.
Silva is looking to work some ground and pound but Gabel has wrist control.

Despite being in the dominant position, Tom Gabel just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Silva wants to clinch.

Gabel closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Silva! Gabel dives in looking to finish! Silva is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!
