The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kills is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Potts's half guard.
Potts is looking to control Kills's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Potts avoid being mounted?

Kills is working for a kimura but Potts is defending it quite comfortably.

Potts reaches up to try and control the position but Kills seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! Potts rolls and tries to escape and now Kills has his back!

Kills might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Potts haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Kills is controlling the position but Potts somehow manages to roll and ends up with half guard.

Kills is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Kills sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

Potts throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing.
Potts wants to control but Kills is having none of it.
Kills fails to take his opponent's back.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Potts is squirming around, avoiding Kills's attempts to control the action.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bear Kills dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Potts has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

It looks like Demarcus Potts has been cut.

Kills fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Potts sprawls well initially but Kills persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Potts wants to improve his position but Kills is controlling well.
Kills is thwarting Potts's attempts to control the position.

Kills thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Potts's head.
Potts tries to get to full guard but Kills has control of the leg.

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Kills throws a head kick but Potts moves out of range.

Potts gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Kills to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Kills stands and throws Potts's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Potts is looking to reverse the position.
Potts trying his best to control but Kills has mounted him.
Kills lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

Potts is rocked!

Kills looking to secure an arm triangle but Potts defends it well.
Oh Potts is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
A big strike lands for Kills! That's really hurt Potts and he's turned his back - Kills keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Kills jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!
