The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Poletto throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Lopez stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Lopez tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Poletto paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Poletto swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
The fight stays on the outside here - Lopez looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

and Poletto counters with a nice uppercut.
Poletto tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Lopez was well out of range. Poor timing from Poletto.
It looked like Lopez wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Poletto tries to close the distance and clinch up but Lopez swats him away and circles back towards the center.
A chopping leg kick lands by Poletto.
Poletto needs to keep his hands up - Lopez had a free shot at his head there.

Poletto tries to work over Lopez's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A knee to the head by Poletto.

Poletto lands a left hand that snaps the head of Lopez backwards.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Poletto cracks Lopez with a big uppercut, right up the middle and Lopez goes down! Oh, he's hurt! He's bigtime hurt! The referee is giving him a chance to get back to his feet - 4,5,6,7, no, he's called it off! Lopez wasn't going to make it and the fight is over!
