The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Topper Green and Hugh Johnson.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carado throws a series of strikes that have Dertli backpedaling.

It looks like Kerem Dertli has been cut.

Carado drops Dertli with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Dertli looks back up at him and smiles so Carado waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Dertli is rocked!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Carado misses with a jab, cross combination.

Dertli drops Carado with a left right combo! Dertli follows him down to the ground into side control.
Dertli working the ground and pound but Carado is defending the strikes.
Carado is not content to let Dertli control the position.

Dertli working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Dertli trying to control the action but Carado is working from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Carado prevents Dertli from moving into mount.
Carado is not content to let Dertli control the position.
Carado is being controlled here.
Dertli misses with the ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dertli happy to just control the position for now.
Dertli is working Carado over with some ground and pound from side control.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Carado is being controlled here.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Carado misses with a two punch combination.
Dertli lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Carado tests Dertli's chin there with a solid looking shot.

That has opened up Kerem Dertli's cut even more.
Carado tries to close the distance and clinch but Dertli swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Dertli throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Carado tries to bum rush Dertli with a series of wild strikes but Dertli uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Carado lands with a jab that stuns his opponent. Dertli is looking to close the distance but Carado sees it coming and throws a beautiful knee! Dertli crumbles to the mat and that's all she wrote! Let's hope Dertli is OK because that was naaaaaasty!

A very excited looking Avo Carado rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
