Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vinny Ruggiero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jackie Chan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Cecil Peabody and Wesley Smith.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ruggiero shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Chan pinned against the cage. Chan gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Chan throws a sloppy head kick and Ruggiero moves out of range easily.
Ruggiero throws a big counter combination but Chan scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Ruggiero looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
And Chan tries to counter it with a takedown but Ruggiero pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Chan connects with a body shot that sends Ruggiero's belly button to the back.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Chan shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Ruggiero as he jumps to the side.

Ruggiero feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Chan working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
