Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Tobias Mccarty (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kenta Nakayama (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mccarty moves out of range as Nakayama strikes.

Mccarty gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Mccarty wants to break free but Nakayama has control.

Nakayama has clasped his hands together around Mccarty's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Nakayama in side control lands a decent elbow.
Nakayama content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
Nakayama's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Nakayama is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Mccarty has escaped the position, nice work there.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
You can see the frustration on Mccarty's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Nakayama wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Mccarty, who protects the arm well.
Mccarty is trying to buck Nakayama off.
Mccarty is trying to control Nakayama's posture but Nakayama avoids it.
Nakayama wants to take a breather but Mccarty manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Nakayama.
Mccarty is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Mccarty will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Mccarty really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Nakayama has hold of Mccarty's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Mccarty tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Nakayama cranks the arm and Mccarty screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Mccarty, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
