PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Otto Peterson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sylar Mcgee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mcgee has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Otto Peterson has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Sylar Mcgee!
The judges for this bout are Ron Honeybunn, Hugh Johnson and Ben Watson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Peterson closes the distance and pushes Mcgee back into the cage.
Mcgee is trying to force a seperation but Peterson has the dominant position.

Peterson is defending against the submission attempts here by Mcgee.
Peterson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Mcgee shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Peterson manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Peterson lands a couple of decent looking shots.

Peterson decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Mcgee on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

Peterson pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Mcgee back to the cage. Peterson follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Mcgee throws a right and a left that Peterson avoids nicely.
Peterson tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Mcgee manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Mcgee unleashes a big counter combination but Peterson bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.

Mcgee has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Peterson is trying to keep an underhook but Mcgee manages to get the takedown into half guard.

Mcgee looking to improve position, pressing down on Peterson's thigh with his hand. Peterson seems to be working to lock up a guilotine though... is Mcgee paying attention? Apparently not! He's locked it up tight! Mcgee's face has turned purple! Will he tap? Will he! YES! He's tapped! Peterson picked his opening and made it count! Great finish!
