Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Karl Patton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Gordon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Karl Patton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, James Gordon!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Robert Twigg and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gordon closes the distance and clinches.
Gordon drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Gordon presses Patton against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
Gordon has had enough of the clinch but Patton keeps him there for the moment.
Gordon wants to get back to striking at distance but Patton won't allow it.
A frustrated look appears on Gordon's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Patton breaks from the clinch.
Gordon misses with a leg kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Gordon pushes Patton up against the cage in a clinch.

Patton escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Patton throws a big counter combination but Gordon scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Patton closes this distance looking for a takedown but Gordon circles away.

Gordon gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Gordon is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Patton to keep the fight standing.

Patton breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Gordon stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Patton shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Gordon as he avoids it easily.

Gordon throws the kick towards the body but Patton avoids it.

and Patton counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Patton doesn't manage to clinch there - Gordon circles away.
Gordon shoots in looking for a takedown. Patton tries to sprawl out of it but Gordon keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Patton manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Gordon rushes Patton and presses him up against the cage.

Patton has Gordon pressed against the cage, preventing Gordon from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Patton really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Gordon tries to circle away but Patton has him pinned against the cage.
Gordon is looking to break free of the clinch but Patton has double underhooks.
Gordon throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Patton blocks it with crossed arms.
Gordon wants to break free but Patton has control.
Gordon prevents the takedown attempt.
Gordon is trying to push Patton away but Patton has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Gordon wants to take the fight to the mat but Patton manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Patton pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

James Gordon dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Patton throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Gordon's waist but Gordon gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Patton off to one side.
Gordon throws a big counter head kick but Patton avoids it with no problem.
Gordon misses with a double jab
and Patton counters with an inside leg kick.
Gordon scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Patton doesn't seem bothered though.

The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
Gordon has had enough of the clinch but Patton keeps him there for the moment.
Gordon tries to pull guard but Patton holds him up against the cage and eventually Gordon drops back down to his feet.

Gordon has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Patton is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Gordon tries to land knees in the clinch but Patton avoids the damage to the body.
Gordon throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Gordon just misses with a elbow thrown towards Patton's brow.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Gordon lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.

Patton shoots in looking for a takedown but Gordon manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Patton's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Patton has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Patton there as he acknowledges the shot.

Patton shoots in for a takedown but Gordon shows good takedown defense.

Patton looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Gordon stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Gordon wants it to stay on the feet.

Patton slaps away a takedown attempt from Gordon, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Patton wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.

Patton manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Gordon on his heels. He'll look to pass Gordon's guard now, I'm sure.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Patton takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

I would just about give that final round to James Gordon.
I've got Gordon winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
