Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lucien Avery (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shoto Murasaki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Murasaki has chosen PRIDE FC Theme as his entrance music. Shoto Murasaki has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Lucien Avery's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Lucien Avery!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Shoto Murasaki!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Hirohito Nitta and Ren Mimura.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Murasaki lands a slapping body shot.
Murasaki throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.


It looks like Lucien Avery has been cut.
Murasaki works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Avery tries to clinch there but Murasaki circles away.

Avery gets tackled into the cage by Murasaki. Murasaki maintains the clinch.
Avery is trying to pull guard but Murasaki turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Murasaki will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Avery up against the cage.
Murasaki is trying to force a seperation but Avery has the dominant position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Murasaki gets control of Avery's arms and successfully pulls guard. Murasaki will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Avery could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Avery distracts Murasaki with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Avery throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Murasaki works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Avery accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Avery postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Murasaki is trying to control the position but Avery postures up.
Avery trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Murasaki has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Avery can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Murasaki wants to stand and escape but Avery is having none of it.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Avery has closed the distance and engaged Murasaki in a clinch.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Murasaki not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Avery throws a big elbow that misses.
Avery keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Murasaki's head.

Avery postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Avery shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Murasaki shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Avery eats them both and turns towards Murasaki to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Murasaki tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Avery appears to be looking for a big counter.

Avery instigates a clinch.
Avery is trying to pull guard but Murasaki turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Avery jumps guard but Murasaki stands there with Avery around his waist. Avery gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lucien Avery. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Murasaki manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

Murasaki wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Avery postures up in Murasaki's guard and throws a big left but Murasaki blocks it.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Shoto Murasaki dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Lucien Avery's cut.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Murasaki lands with a kick to the temple. Avery shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Avery is looking to clinch.
The fight stays on the outside here - Avery looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Avery tries to clinch but Murasaki moves out of range.
Avery fails to land the takedown.
Avery wants to clinch up but Murasaki keeps it at a distance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Avery moves into range and clinches up with Murasaki.
Murasaki has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Avery pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

and Murasaki counters with a head kick from the bowels of hell that crumples Avery! This one is all over!

During a confident post fight interview, Shoto Murasaki thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
