The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bagautdinov avoids the head kick by Kartes.

As Kartes backs away, Bagautdinov returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Bagautdinov lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Kartes has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Kartes and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Kartes tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.

Kartes darts in looking for a takedown but Bagautdinov gets double underhooks and turns Kartes into the cage.

Kartes shoots for a takedown but Bagautdinov saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
It looks like Bagautdinov has been trying to sharpen up his punching technique, as it looks crisper than last time we saw him.

Kartes throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Bagautdinov's waist but Bagautdinov gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Kartes off to one side.
Kartes moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Bagautdinov lands a big right hand that sends Kartes crashing to the mat! Bagautdinov stays standing though and waves Kartes back to his feet!
Kartes is still on wobbly legs! Can Bagautdinov finish him?

Bagautdinov changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Kartes seems to have recovered his senses.
Bagautdinov sends Kartes crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Bagautdinov is motioning to the referee to let Kartes up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!

A bone on bone clash there as Kartes blocks the leg kick.

Kartes walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Bagautdinov paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Kartes delivers a nice body kick.
Kartes gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Bagautdinov gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!

Ali Bagautdinov decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
