Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Alan Brian (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Groper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Brian's entrance music is Borneo Head Hunter Theam 4. A fine choice. Alan Brian has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Alan Brian!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jack Groper!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Ron Honeybunn and John Mangel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brian goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Brian throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Nice body punch from Brian.
Brian misses with the combination.
Brian throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Groper dodges the punch combination from Brian.
Groper dodges the punch combination from Brian.
Brian tries to clinch there but Groper circles away.
Brian throws a head kick that misses.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Brian lands a jab-cross combination.
Brian lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Groper on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Brian lands with a nice body punch.
Brian misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Groper.

Brian clinches up with Groper and pushes him back against the cage.
Groper has Brian pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Brian manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Groper keeps control of Brian as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Brian is trying to break the clinch but Groper has him pressed against the cage.
Brian prevents the takedown attempt.
Alan Brian has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jack Groper.

Brian breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Groper swats away the attempt to clinch by Brian.
Brian scores with a hook to the body. Groper takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Brian swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Groper counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Groper showing good wrestling skills to control the position.

Groper thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Brian being controlled here, momentarily.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Groper looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Brian connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Groper throws a series of punches but Brian moves out of range.
Groper walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Brian misses with a wild body shot.
Brian closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Groper dodges the punch combination from Brian.
Groper with the counter takedown but Brian avoids it easily.
No joy there for Brian, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
And Groper tries to counter it with a takedown but Brian pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Alan Brian seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Brian is breathing heavily.

Brian decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Groper is looking to control Brian's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Groper avoid being mounted?
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Alan Brian dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Groper moves out of range of the strikes.
Groper drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Brian defends it well.
Brian fails to land with a series of punches.

Brian fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Groper, pushing him back against the cage.
Brian gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Groper.
Brian is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Groper can do to turn this around?

Brian jumps guard.
Groper is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Groper wants to control from the top but Brian keeps moving.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Groper looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Brian is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Groper is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Groper has gone for a leg lock! Brian slips out almost immediately though and dives into Groper's guard.


Brian is posturing up here but Groper has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Brian tries to roll out but it's too tight and Brian has to tap! Slick submission there by Groper!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:32 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Jack Groper!
