PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ed Burke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bronson Dekker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Bronson Dekker was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Bronson Dekker!
The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Josh West and Jeff Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Burke gets caught flat footed, as Dekker shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Burke will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Dekker slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Burke has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Dekker has passed into side control.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Burke pushes Dekker away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Dekker gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Dekker is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Burke is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Dekker is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Burke has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Burke!

Dekker throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Burke works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Dekker tries to stand but Burke is controlling from the bottom.
Dekker working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Dekker should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Dekker wants to stand but Burke is controlling his posture from full guard.

Dekker wants to control but Burke is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Burke jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Dekker is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Dekker and Burke has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Bronson Dekker showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Burke drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Dekker manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Burke has Dekker in his guard.

Burke is staying active underneath Dekker, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

I've got Dekker winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
