Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Angelo Giles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David De Vries (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Angelo Giles!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, David De Vries!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Nard Betker and Paul Aken.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
De Vries throws a sloppy head kick and Giles moves out of range easily.
David De Vries seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
De Vries scores with a punch to the head.

De Vries shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. De Vries showed some decent athleticism there.
Giles is not content to let De Vries control the position.
Giles wants to control the action here but instead De Vries manages to pass to full mount!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Giles wants to hold on but De Vries pushes him away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Giles tries to control De Vries's body but De Vries pushes him off. Giles squirms to his side and now De Vries has his back!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Giles is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.
Giles manages to reverse the position and now he's in De Vries's guard. Nice work there by Giles.

Giles keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of De Vries's head.
De Vries is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Giles is working De Vries over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
De Vries wants to hit a switch here but Giles passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for De Vries there!

Giles tries to stand and escape but De Vries is controlling the position.

Giles looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
De Vries desperately trying to maintain half guard.
Giles working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Giles is sneakily working for an arm triangle but De Vries sees it coming and defends easily.
De Vries wants to control but Giles is keeping busy.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Giles wants to clinch.

Giles gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows De Vries to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Giles is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

De Vries tries to free his leg and advance position but Giles is retaining full guard.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Giles will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
De Vries lands a head shot.

De Vries tries to control but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad.
Giles avoids the attempt from De Vries to control.

Giles get's back to his feet.

De Vries closes the distance and clinches.
Giles will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning De Vries up against the cage.

De Vries pulls guard successfully.

Giles lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

Giles got a little sloppy there for a moment and De Vries has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Giles has managed to get both his arms back between De Vries's legs - danger averted.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Giles misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

De Vries gets the takedown into side control.

De Vries has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Giles tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but De Vries paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Sloppy strikes from De Vries. Those never looked like landing.
De Vries is breathing heavily.
De Vries loads up on a big right hand but Giles slips the punch.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Giles wants to clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

David De Vries showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Giles really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Giles wants to improve his position but De Vries is controlling well.
De Vries is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

De Vries has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Giles is looking to control De Vries's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Giles avoid being mounted?
Giles is looking for a sweep. De Vries is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Giles has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. De Vries is working away from the top position though.

De Vries decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Giles takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
De Vries keeps the fight on the outside.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Giles is looking to get back to full guard here but De Vries has managed to pass to side control instead.

De Vries throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

Giles is really stuck here.

De Vries tightening his grip on Giles, looking for the choke.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

De Vries has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Giles has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

And that's the end of the fight!
David De Vries comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well De Vries has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
