PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Gene Flintlock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Van Ouden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Flintlock kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genuis that is Undead by Hollywood Undead. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Flintlock lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Flintlock throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Van Ouden's waist but Van Ouden gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Flintlock off to one side.
Flintlock cracks Van Ouden with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Flintlock lands a two punch combo.

Van Ouden darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Van Ouden looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Flintlock makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Flintlock.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Van Ouden trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Flintlock thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Flintlock will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Flintlock shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Van Ouden shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Van Ouden showed some decent athleticism there.

Van Ouden is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Van Ouden is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Flintlock has managed to free his arm - good work.

Van Ouden works to advance to full mount. Flintlock defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

Van Ouden working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Flintlock looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Van Ouden! Submission of the night perhaps?
