Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Everette Dillard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Adao Santos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Adao Santos has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Everette Dillard's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Everette Dillard!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Adao Santos!
The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Alexandre Firmino and Leandro Rodrigues.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Dillard gets a takedown into half guard.
Dillard prevents Santos from standing back up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Santos has his hands clasped together around Dillard's back. He's all about the action.
Santos is looking to improve his position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Santos is trying to maintain the position but Dillard is very close to passing his half guard.

Santos keeps control of the position for the meantime.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Dillard is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Santos has managed to free his arm - good work.

Dillard is looking for a kimura but Santos is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Dillard to get the leverage.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Dillard throws a big right hand that misses.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Dillard swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Santos gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Dillard is trying to pull guard but Santos has him pressed against the cage.

Santos turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!

Santos tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Santos tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Santos has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Dillard is looking for a sweep.
Dillard could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Santos stands up.

Santos feints and as Dillard raises his hands in defense, Santos changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Santos controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Santos trying to control the position from guard on top but Dillard is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Dillard trying to keep a closed guard but Santos is proving a slippery customer.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Dillard lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Dillard throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Santos works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Santos stuffs the takedown attempt from Dillard. Dillard gets slowly back to his feet.

Santos connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Dillard some visible discomfort.

Santos postures up in Dillard's guard and throws a big left but Dillard blocks it.
Dillard wants to sweep here but Santos controlling him for the moment.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Santos wanted to stand there but Dillard had control of the position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Dillard has hold of Santos's hands but Santos slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Santos wants to take a breather but Dillard is having none of it.

Santos is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Santos thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Dillard's head.
Dillard wants to control but Santos is keeping busy.
Dillard wants to improve his position but Santos is controlling well.
Santos is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Santos darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Dillard tries to roll over but Santos keeps him under control.

Santos is working for a kimura but Dillard is defending it quite comfortably.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Dillard is working hard here to advance position.

Santos seems to be working for a kimura but Dillard defends the submission attempt.
Dillard trying to get back to full guard but Santos takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount!
Santos has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Dillard wants to hold on but Santos pushes him away.

Dillard is wriggling around trying to escape.
Santos looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Dillard might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Santos is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Dillard can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Adao Santos showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Santos stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Santos ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Dillard moves away.
Santos tries to clinch but Dillard is having none of it.
Dillard is looking to counter the offense by Santos and move into the clinch.

Dillard has managed to clinch.
Santos just leaning against Dillard, taking a breather.
A frustrated look appears on Dillard's face as he tries to break the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Santos lands a takedown into guard.
Santos wants to control from the top but Dillard keeps moving.

Dillard looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Dillard is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Dillard wants to sweep but no luck.
Santos showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Dillard tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Dillard can't keep his opponent in guard - Santos advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Santos not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Santos is in close to Dillard's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Santos passes into half guard under a barage of strikes.

Dillard is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Santos pulls his head out easily.

Dillard wants to control but Santos passes into side.

Santos dives in and scores a takedown into Dillard's guard.

Dillard is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Santos is controlling him.
Santos stands up over Dillard, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Santos seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Everette Dillard has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Adao Santos is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Dillard is trying to strike from the bottom but Santos has passed into full mount.

Adao Santos comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Santos has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
