Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Francisco Sparks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Arnaldo Bernados (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bernados tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Sparks paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Sparks changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Sparks has Bernados up against the cage in a clinch.
Sparks displaying some good clinch control by pressing Bernados up against the cage.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Bernados.
Sparks tries to pull guard but Bernados won't allow it.
Bernados swings away with an uppercut that misses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bernados swings wildly with an uppercut but Sparks uses good head movement to avoid it.
Sparks really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Sparks wants to break free but Bernados has control.
Sparks pulls guard successfully.

Bernados throwing strikes but missing.
Bernados stands and throws Sparks's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Sparks is trying to control Bernados's posture but Bernados avoids it.
Bernados has hold of Sparks's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Sparks tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Bernados cranks the arm and Sparks screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Sparks, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Arnaldo Bernados!
