PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Brad Norvell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kirk Thorpe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Brad Norvell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Kirk Thorpe!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Chris Edwards and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Norvell has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Norvell there as he acknowledges the shot.
Thorpe missing with a left hand there. Norvell was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Thorpe displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
Thorpe has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Norvell finds it's way round the side to connect with Thorpe's head.
Thorpe tries to clinch but Norvell moves out of range.
Thorpe looks to land a left hand but Norvell moved out of range nicely.
Norvell appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Thorpe moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Norvell feints a jab promting Thorpe to slip. Norvell then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Thorpe slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.


It looks like Kirk Thorpe has been cut.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Thorpe cracks Norvell with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

Norvell shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Thorpe napping and manages to drive through into side control!

You can see the frustration on Thorpe's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Norvell tries to bum rush Thorpe with a series of wild strikes but Thorpe uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Thorpe is rocked!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
A lull in the action here as Norvell stalls from top position.
Thorpe has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Norvell, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
