He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Demian Maia could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Anthony Anderson's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Maia clinches up with Anderson and pushes him back against the cage.
Anderson gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Maia.

Maia manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Anderson can do anything to dispel that myth.
Anderson tries to buck Maia off but Maia takes his back!
Maia is looking to control Anderson but Anderson is wriggling around and keeping busy.
Maia connects with a series of strikes and the referee is calling for Anderson to escape the position.
Maia lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.

Maia has the hooks in and he's looking for a rear naked choke here. Anderson is defending well but eventually Maia manages to get an arm under the chin and he's locked on the RNC! Anderson has no choice but to tap now! He does! This one is all over!
