PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Isaias Woods (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Daniel DeMuth (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Isaias Woods!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Daniel DeMuth!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Ron Honeybunn and Damien Edna.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Woods swings and misses with a hook to the body.
DeMuth throws a head kick that misses.
Woods misses with a two punch combination.
Woods really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

DeMuth scores with a takedown into Woods's guard.
DeMuth stopping the sweep attempt from Woods.
DeMuth wanted to stand there but Woods had control of the position.

DeMuth is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Woods working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. DeMuth doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. DeMuth manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

DeMuth shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Woods is trying to defend but DeMuth finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Woods wants to stand and escape but DeMuth is having none of it.

Woods wants to get back to his feet.
DeMuth wants to stand up but Woods is controlling the position.
Well, if DeMuth is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Woods has one foot on DeMuth's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Woods looks to land a left hand but DeMuth moved out of range nicely.

DeMuth manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Woods on his heels. He'll look to pass Woods's guard now, I'm sure.
Woods knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for DeMuth on the ground.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Woods is on top in guard.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
DeMuth is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
DeMuth slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Woods trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
