The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Padilla rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Carpenter moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Padilla avoids the head kick by Carpenter.
Padilla throws a nice inside leg kick.
Padilla moves out of range of the body kick.
Carpenter misses with a jab, cross combination.
Padilla showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Carpenter.
Carpenter looks winded!
Padilla swings and misses with a hook to the body.
No joy there for Carpenter, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Good work by Padilla as he checks the leg kick.
Padilla pulls out of a head kick attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Carpenter throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Padilla.
Padilla throws a head kick that misses.

Padilla darts in and clinches Carpenter up against the cage.
Padilla digs a right hand into Carpenter's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Carpenter's gas tank.
