Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Arman Svensson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Steve Deverux!
The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Chris Saunders and Josh West.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Deverux moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Svensson takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Deverux misses with a jab, cross combination.
Svensson tries to close the distance and clinch up but Deverux swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Deverux steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Svensson.
A swing and a miss from Deverux.
Deverux throws a hook but Svensson avoids it easily.
Deverux cracks Svensson with a good jab.
Deverux's jab looks to have found its range, popping Svensson under the eye.
Svensson is rocked!
Deverux cracks Svensson with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Svensson tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Deverux pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Svensson is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Steve Deverux!
The defeated Arman Svensson had this to say: 'He was just lucky.
I will come back stronger then ever!'.
