Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Wyatt Weiss!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jim Hagan!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Russell Pearce and Reed Andrews.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Weiss gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Hagan looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

Weiss has Hagan pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Weiss pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Hagan tumbling to the mat - Weiss dives into Hagan's guard.
Hagan has a closed guard, preventing Weiss from standing up.
Weiss throws an elbow that misses. Hagan uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Weiss's guard. Nice move by Hagan!

Hagan must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Weiss is pulling down on Hagan's head to control his posture.
Weiss is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Weiss seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Weiss had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Hagan defends it easily.
Hagan throws a big right hand that misses.
Weiss will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Weiss managing to control the position.

Weiss working for a triangle but Hagan defends it easily.
Weiss keeping moving, preventing Hagan from controlling successfully.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Weiss is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Hagan has his hands clasped together but Weiss extends and breaks Hagan's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Weiss.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Wyatt Weiss!
