PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ryan Gledhill (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Phil Collison (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ryan Gledhill!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Phil Collison!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Daniel Blasius and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Collison shoots in but no luck this time.
Gledhill changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Gledhill tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Collison manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Collison rushes Gledhill and presses him up against the cage.

Collison breaks the clinch.
Collison shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Gledhill but Gledhill pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Gledhill throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Collison's waist but Collison gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Gledhill off to one side.
Collison drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Gledhill defends it well.
Collison shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Gledhill as he avoids it easily.
Ryan Gledhill has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Phil Collison.
Gledhill dives in and grabs Collison's left leg, looking for a takedown. Collison pushes down on Gledhill's head and hops out.
Collison tries to score with a low kick but Gledhill moves his leg out of the way.
It looked like Gledhill wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gledhill fails in his attempt to clinch.

Collison forces Gledhill back against the cage and clinches.
Gledhill tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Collison has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Gledhill uses from the top position.
Collison lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Collison stays in close to Gledhill's body and controls the position.
Gledhill knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Collison on the ground.

Collison gets to his feet - Gledhill follows without any prompting.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Gledhill is trying hard to land a takedown here. Collison sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Collison throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Gledhill sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Collison looks for a takedown but Gledhill sprawls well.
Ryan Gledhill seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gledhill changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Collison tries to avoid it but Gledhill manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Collison to the ground. Collison escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Collison feints and as Gledhill raises his hands in defense, Collison changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Gledhill can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Collison controls the pace.
Gledhill tries to land a sweep but no joy.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Collison passes into half guard.
Collison keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.

Collison in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Gledhill tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Collison!
