PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Lou Hole (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shoddy Body (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Hole might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Louie Louie/ Motorhead. Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Shoddy Body enters the cage!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hole misses with a combination

and Body counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Body postures up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Body trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Body not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Body looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Body drops back, looking for a kneebar! Hole looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Hole looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Hole!

Body is not content to let Hole control the position.

Hole is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Body has escaped the position, nice work there.
Body is trying to get back to half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Hole tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
Body is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Hole's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Body moves into full guard.
Body seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Body can do anything to dispel that myth.
Hole throws an elbow that misses. Body uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Hole's guard. Nice move by Body!

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Body slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Body wants to control from the top but Hole keeps moving.

Body swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Hole is now in Body's guard. A big mistake from Body there, giving up the dominant position!

Hole is pressing down on Body's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Body stays in close to Hole's body and controls the position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Hole is trying to keep Body in close.
Body wants to pass the guard but Hole is keeping the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Shoddy Body dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Hole works over Body's head and body with a nice combination.
Hole scores with a body shot.
Hole lands a nice shot that snaps Body's head back.
Hole misses with a double jab

and Body counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Body looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Hole with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Body seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Hole is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
