PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Nathan Norman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rackham Robinson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Norman comes into the arena with Freaks blaring out of the sound system. Robinson has chosen Klaus Badelt - He's A Pirate as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Nathan Norman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Rackham Robinson!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Roosa Järviläinen and Ben Zyskovitsi.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Robinson throws a head kick but Norman moves out of range.
Norman shoots in for a takedown but Robinson shows good takedown defense.
Robinson misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Robinson tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Norman changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Robinson lands with a slapping head kick.
Norman takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Robinson throws a sloppy head kick

so Norman counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Norman wants to control from the top but Robinson keeps moving.
Robinson is looking to stand up but Norman isn't so interested in that idea.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Norman lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Robinson wants to get back to his feet but Norman is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Norman is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Norman postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Robinson can do anything to dispel that myth.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Norman is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Norman trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Norman steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Robinson. That one must have hurt.
Norman chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Robinson can pounce on him.

Robinson lands a big head kick that sends Norman tumbling to the mat! Robinson takes a step backwards and waves Norman back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Norman is rocked!

It looks like Nathan Norman has been cut.
Robinson feints a jab and as Norman dips his head, Robinson unleashes a brutal head kick that catches Norman right on the jaw! Timbeeer! Norman falls backwards in slow motion, only propped up by the cage! Robinson smiles a psychotic smile as he stares down his unconscious opponent. That is a scary man.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:53 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Rackham Robinson!
Rackham Robinson decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
