Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Aecio Neves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and AJ Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Aecio Neves!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, AJ Jackson!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Jorge Garcia and Anthony Taglia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Neves fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Jackson, pushing him back against the cage.
Neves has Jackson pushed against the cage.

Neves breaks the clinch.
A combination from Jackson does no damage.
Neves misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Jackson shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Neves as he jumps to the side.
Jackson dives in for a single leg takedown but Neves sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Neves throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Jackson tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Neves is in Jackson's guard.

Jackson looking for a guillotine here but Neves defends easily.
Neves engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Neves wants to control from the top but Jackson keeps moving.

Neves stopping the sweep attempt from Jackson.

Jackson throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

Neves gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
A slow jab from Neves misses its intended target.
Jackson avoids the head kick by Neves.

Neves fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Jackson sprawls well initially but Neves persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jackson gets back to full guard.
Jackson bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Neves's guard.

Neves is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Jackson is controlling him.
Neves looking to hit a scissor sweep but Jackson is one step ahead there.
Neves is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Jackson trying to control but Neves is working from the bottom.

Neves looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Jackson passes into half guard.

Jackson trying to mount his opponent but Neves defends it.
Neves has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Jackson is working away from the top position though.

Jackson is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Neves has managed to free his arm - good work.
Neves is looking for a sweep. Jackson is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Neves moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Neves seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.

Jackson has gone for a leg lock! Neves slips out almost immediately though and dives into Jackson's guard.

We've been informed that Jackson has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

Jackson is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Neves is pressing down on Jackson's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Neves clinches.
A left hand lands to the body for Neves.

Neves's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Neves closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Jackson's guard.

Neves trying to control the position from guard on top but Jackson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Neves seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Neves looking to break Jackson's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Jackson remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Neves will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

Neves has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Jackson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Neves looks to score with a jab to the body but Jackson is just out of range.

Neves has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Jackson is trying to keep an underhook but Neves manages to get the takedown into half guard.

Neves wants to free his trapped foot but Jackson is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Neves thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Neves is looking to stall here but Jackson recovers full guard.
Jackson utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Jackson looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Neves controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Jackson can't keep his opponent in guard - Neves advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Neves is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Jackson is just riding it out for now. Neves eventually gives up the hold.

Jackson makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Jackson.
Jackson can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Neves controls the pace.

Jackson is trying to control the position from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Neves tries to free his leg and advance position but Jackson is retaining full guard.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Jackson misses with a double jab.

Neves drives through with a takedown into Jackson's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Jackson tries to get to full guard but Neves has control of the leg.
Jackson takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

AJ Jackson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Neves is taking a breather. Jackson says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Well Neves has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
