PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Axl Dokken (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yoel Romero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Dokken might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Cherry Pie "Warrant". Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dokken tries to clinch up but Romero circles away and keeps his distance.
Dokken looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Dokken darts in trying to clinch
and Romero counters with a series of strikes. Dokken will be more careful next time no doubt.
Dokken throws a body punch but Romero moves out of range.

Romero has taken the fight to the clinch.
Romero is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Dokken gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Romero goes for a takedown attempt but Dokken pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Romero shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Dokken sprawls well. Dokken wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Romero gets slowly back to his feet.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Romero decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Dokken is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at Bobby B's, so we'll see if he gets out of it.

Romero is looking to take a break and control but Dokken is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Romero misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Romero is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Dokken knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
