Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Rogga Polis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matt Hunter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hunter has chosen Dance Monkey -Sage Francis as his entrance music. Matt Hunter is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Rogga Polis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Matt Hunter!
The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Ivan Kurochkin and Fedor Mirinova.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Polis shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Polis was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Hunter is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
BOOM! Polis connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Polis scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Polis has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Hunter gets back to half guard.
Hunter wants to get back to his feet.
Polis prevents Hunter from improving his position.
Hunter regains full guard. Nicely done.

Hunter has his feet on Polis's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Polis shoots in but Hunter avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Polis has a takedown stuffed.
Polis shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Hunter pinned against the cage. Hunter gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Hunter stands up from Polis's guard - Hunter perhaps looking for a knockout.

and Hunter holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Polis wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Polis lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Hunter unloads a knee to the mid-section. Polis lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.

Hunter stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Polis swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Polis has his foot on Hunter's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Hunter works his way back into a safe position though.

Hunter drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Hunter jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Hunter wants to control from the top but Polis keeps moving.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Hunter wants to get up but he can't break Polis's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Polis has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Hunter is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Polis.

Polis escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hunter gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Matt Hunter showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Matt Hunter is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Hunter has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Well Hunter has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
