The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Fedor Mirinova and Vladimir Khabensky.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Luiz throws a body kick that misses.
Luiz looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Jones is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Luiz is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Luiz has eaten all the pies!
Jones drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Jones jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Jones connects with a couple of short punches.

Luiz tries to close the distance and clinch up but Jones swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Jones is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Luiz has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Luiz is bucking up trying to escape but Jones cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Heriberto Jones.
I think Jones has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
