Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Sophia Castro Correia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and MIlky Socks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Sophia Castro Correia!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, MIlky Socks!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Santiago Holmes and Winston Alpacca.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Socks looks for a takedown but Correia sprawls well.

Correia moves into the clinch successfully.
Correia lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.

Correia breaks the clinch.
Correia seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.

Correia looking to stall.
Correia will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Socks up against the cage.
Correia wants to get back to striking at distance but Socks won't allow it.
Socks drops down looking for an ankle pick but Correia pulls his leg out and moves away.

Correia drives through and clinches with Socks against the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Correia breaks the clinch.
Correia lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Socks backs up against the cage.


It looks like MIlky Socks has been cut.
Correia tries to close the distance and clinch but Socks swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Socks shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Correia as he avoids it easily.
Sophia Castro Correia has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of MIlky Socks.
Socks changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Correia tries to avoid it but Socks manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Correia to the ground. Correia escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Socks looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Correia displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Socks.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Socks swats away the attempt to clinch by Correia.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Correia just leaning against Socks, taking a breather.
Socks has Correia pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Correia manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Socks gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Socks takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Socks thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Correia's head.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Socks in particular looking to stall.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Socks passes to side control.
Socks has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Socks is trying to get an arm triangle but Correia is defending well.
Socks tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Socks tries to advance to mount but can't.
Correia gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Socks thowing shots but they're missing.
Socks postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Correia looks a forlorn figure.
Socks has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Correia's face.
Socks content just to control the position here.
It looks like Socks might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Correia is rocked!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Socks lands a big shot to the head and Correia winces in pain. He's tapped out due to strikes!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). MIlky Socks!
