The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Voorhoofd moves away from the strike by Groot.
Groot takes a jab right on the kisser.
Groot fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Voorhoofd is out of range.
Voorhoofd throws out a counter right but Groot avoids it with no problem.
Groot has his takedown stuffed
and Voorhoofd counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Voorhoofd connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Groot momentarily.
Voorhoofd scores with a jab. Groot acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Groot is looking to clinch but Voorhoofd is avoiding it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Groot tries to close the distance and clinch but Voorhoofd swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Voorhoofd is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Groot's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Voorhoofd paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
No joy there for Groot, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Groot attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Groot takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

Voorhoofd instigates a clinch.
Oh Groot is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Groot jumps guard but Voorhoofd turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Voorhoofd lands a hook that snaps the head of Groot backwards.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Voorhoofd takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Voorhoofd wants to take a breather but Groot is having none of it.

Groot wants to sweep here but Voorhoofd controlling him for the moment.
Groot throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Voorhoofd misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Groot.
Groot misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Voorhoofd has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Groot shoots for a takedown but Voorhoofd saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
A nice side step and Voorhoofd releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.

Groot shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Voorhoofd napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Groot is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Voorhoofd has escaped the position, nice work there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Groot thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Voorhoofd is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Groot is defending well for now.

and Groot takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tjorben Voorhoofd showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Groot's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

As Groot backs off Voorhoofd throws a huge counter combo but Groot manages to avoid it all.
Groot takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Groot dives in for a single leg takedown but Voorhoofd sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Voorhoofd paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Voorhoofd cracks Groot with a big right hand that sees him stumbling back against the cage! Groot falls to his knees and Voorhoofd doesn't need a second invitatation - he rushes in and fires off several unanswered shots that force the referee to stop the fight! This one is all over!
