Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Logan Dunlap (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Trent Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Johnson is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Northlane - Dispossession. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Logan Dunlap!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Trent Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Ivan Kurochkin and Konstantin Menshow.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson is looking to clinch.
Johnson tries to close the distance and clinch up but Dunlap swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Dunlap changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Johnson throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Johnson scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Dunlap regains full guard. Nicely done.
Johnson trying to control but Dunlap is working from the bottom.
Johnson passes Dunlap's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Johnson stalling away here and it's allowed Dunlap to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.

Johnson drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Dunlap dives on top into guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Johnson has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Dunlap has passed into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Dunlap is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Johnson is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Dunlap wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Johnson, who protects the arm well.
Johnson is looking for a sweep.

Dunlap trying to control the position but Johnson is working away.
Johnson is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Dunlap looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Johnson tries to bench press Dunlap off him but Dunlap keeps the position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
A right-left combo lands from Dunlap.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Dunlap enables Johnson to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Dunlap manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Johnson wants to pass the guard but Dunlap is keeping the position.
Johnson looking to sit in guard and control but Dunlap gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Johnson is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

That was a close round but I would say that Logan Dunlap will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Johnson thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Dunlap if he has to take too many more of those.
Johnson misses with a hook. Dunlap ducked under it nicely.
Johnson tries to clinch up but Dunlap circles away and keeps his distance.

Johnson shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Johnson is looking for a kimura but Dunlap is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Johnson to get the leverage.
Trent Johnson has got the better of the ground game so far.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dunlap wants to improve his position but Johnson is controlling well.

Johnson is working for a submission of some sort.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Dunlap is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Johnson's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Johnson's back!

Dunlap has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Johnson has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Johnson manages to reverse the position and now he's in Dunlap's guard. Nice work there by Johnson.

Dunlap utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Johnson stands and steps away. Dunlap gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Johnson closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Dunlap quickly recovers to half guard.
Johnson is nestled in close to Dunlap, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Johnson is trying to control the action in half guard but Dunlap is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Johnson has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Dunlap is squirming around, avoiding Johnson's attempts to control the action.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Trent Johnson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

As Johnson tries to get set, Dunlap tries to push him back and clinch up but Johnson manages to avoid the attempt.
Logan Dunlap is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Johnson unleashes a big counter combination but Dunlap bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Trent Johnson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Johnson swings around for an armbar but Dunlap sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Johnson's guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Logan Dunlap.
I think Dunlap has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
