Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Luther Lamel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nathan Cortez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lamel comes into the arena with Blk & Blu blaring out of the sound system. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 1 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Nathan Cortez!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Jorge Garcia and John Kavanagh.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lamel works the jab nicely.
Cortez ducks under a wild hook from Lamel.
Lamel fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Cortez manages to avoid it.
Lamel bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Lamel ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Lamel throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Lamel throws a jab but it's blocked by Cortez.
Cortez fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Lamel has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Team Alpha Male in the buildup to the fight.
Lamel throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Cortez stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Lamel stalks Cortez and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Cortez's face. Cortez staggers backwards, shaken.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Cortez misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Lamel.
Cortez looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Lamel lands with a cross.
Lamel scores with a punch to the head.
Lamel throws the left hand but Cortez avoids the punch easily.
Cortez let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.

Lamel scores with a sloppy right hand. Cortez should have avoided that one.
Lamel misses with a wild body shot.
Cortez feints a counter leg kick.
Lamel misses with the combination.
Cortez defending well as Lamel loads up on a big left hand.
It seemed like Cortez was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Lamel tries to bum rush Cortez with a series of wild strikes but Cortez uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Lamel misses with a looping left.
Cortez looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Cortez on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Lamel throws a hook but Cortez blocks it.
Cortez throws a counter combo.
Cortez throws a right hand that Lamel ducks under and follows up with a left that Lamel also avoids with ease.
Lamel punishes Cortez's body with a nice straight punch.
Lamel keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

Lamel pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Cortez back to the cage. Lamel follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

As Cortez looks to move away, Lamel throws a big counter combo bu Cortez just gets out of the way.

Luther Lamel seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Lamel slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

A looping hook to the body misses from Cortez. Lamel does a little dance to reset his feet.
Cortez feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Lamels jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Lamel ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Lamel scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Lamel throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Cortez is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
A jab from Lamel finds it's way through Cortez's defenses.
Cortez jabs Lamel right on the nose. Lamel blinks but takes it well.
Cortez dodges the punch combination from Lamel.

and Cortez counters with a big right hand! Oh Lamel is in trouble here! Cortez follows up with more strikes and that's it! The ref has stopped it!
