Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Zamora Ruinashi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Manny Lowdown (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Manny Lowdown is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, George Francis and Frank Dennis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ruinashi misses with a left hand

and Lowdown counters with a single leg into guard. Ruinashi didn't expect that.

Lowdown drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Lowdown jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Lowdown is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Lowdown postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Ruinashi is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Lowdown, into his guard.

Ruinashi sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Lowdown's guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Ruinashi is trying to control the action in half guard but Lowdown is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lowdown tries to roll over but Ruinashi keeps him under control.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Lowdown is refusing to be controlled, as Ruinashi sits in half guard.
Ruinashi is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Lowdown is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Ruinashi passes the guard and advances to mount!
Lowdown is squirming around, avoiding Ruinashi's attempts to control the action.
Lowdown tries to lock up and control but Ruinashi gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Ruinashi trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Lowdown can't escape the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Manny Lowdown will probably get the nod.

Ruinashi throws an ugly left hook that misses

and Lowdown counters with a nice double leg into side control. Ruinashi won't be happy with that.

Lowdown has an Americana. Ruinashi didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Lowdown is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Lowdown hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
