Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Stefan Kung (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dale McCann (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dale McCann is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Stefan Kung!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dale McCann!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Daniel Franklin and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from McCann lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Kung has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Kung and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Kung shoots in looking for a takedown. McCann tries to sprawl out of it but Kung keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. McCann manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Kung goes for a double leg but McCann avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the ropes as McCann continues to drive forward.
Kung looks for a takedown but McCann sprawls well.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Stefan Kung. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Kung misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Kung seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down McCann for as long as he can get away with.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
McCann wanted to stand there but Kung had control of the position.

McCann looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
McCann wants to stand and escape but instead Kung has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Kung wants to pass the guard but McCann is keeping the position.

Kung fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. McCann sprawls well initially but Kung persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Kung shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts McCann as he jumps to the side.
McCann is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Kung with a body shot.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Kung.
Kung looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? McCann is fending him off so far but Kung persists. Nope, McCann circles away and we're back to standing.

McCann displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Kung.

Kung has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but McCann can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
McCann tries to stand but Kung is controlling from the bottom.

McCann gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

McCann rushes Kung and pushes him back against the ropes in a clinch.

McCann unloads a knee to the mid-section. Kung lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
Kung drops to a knee looking for a takedown but McCann gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Kung tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. McCann just stands there and leans against the ropes.

Kung gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Kung is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and McCann reverses the position - he's now on top in Kung's guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Kung not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
McCann would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Stefan Kung overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Kung looking to hit a scissor sweep but McCann is one step ahead there.

Kung is looking for a triangle here but McCann uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Kung can't do much from the bottom here.
We've been hearing good reports from Kung's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
Kung tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but McCann wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

McCann has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

McCann will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Dale McCann showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

McCann really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kung. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

That was a close round but Stefan Kung did the better work so I'd imagine he'll take it.

McCann drops Kung with a beautiful combination! Kung stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - McCann is looking for the KO!
McCann's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Kung connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! McCann scrambles back to his feet.
McCann looks to land a left hand but Kung moved out of range nicely.
Kung changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. McCann tries to avoid it but Kung manages to keep hold of a leg and drag McCann to the ground. McCann escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

McCann scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.

McCann has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Both of our modern day gladiators look out of it here - a gruelling 5 rounds of action taking it's toll on them, no doubt.
Kung jumps guard but McCann stands there with Kung around his waist. Kung gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

This has been an exciting period of action!

McCann sends Kung crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! McCann is motioning to the referee to let Kung up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!

McCann drops Kung with a naaaaasty hook - Kung is in real trouble here! McCann dives in to side control and pounds out his opponent for a TKO victory! The crowd goes nuts!
